Midwife Sam with her children (L to R) Ryan, Ellie, Kylynn, Addy, Izzy and husband Bradley

Samantha began her journey into midwifery nearly a decade ago. She was pursuing nursing and obstetrics, when she had the life changing opportunity to witness midwifery care first hand. She knew instantly that this was her calling and transferred to FSTM (Florida School of Traditional Midwifery). She graduated, with honors, from the 3 year direct-entry midwifery program at the Florida School of Traditional Midwifery in Gainesville, Florida. Samantha had the amazing opportunity to learn from a variety of midwives from brand new to grassroot. Their varying levels of expertise and differences in styles of practice have shaped her into the midwife she is today. She has worked in multiple well-known and respected birth centers as well as a high-risk OB office. Since 2015, Samantha has attended nearly 700 out of hospital births. Caring for healthy, low-risk women is her specialty, therefore, her cesarean rate is below 5% compared to a local rate of 35% or more. She is known for her nurturing, personalized and evidence-based care and her light-hearted sense of humor. She is a mother of 5, her youngest was born at home after 3 c-sections.

Lateshia Simmons

Lateshia is a graduate of FSTM and a long time nurse. She began and ended her preceptorship with Midwife Sam. She is a mother of three.

Mandi is a second year student at FSTM. She has completed all of her required birth observations and is in a managing role in our practice. Mandi has two boys, one of which was a homebirth.

Maya is a senior student midwife at FSTM who joined us this year from a thriving birth center in central FL.

Carolyn is in the class of 2021 at FSTM and is a mom of two. One of her babies was born at home.

Licensed Midwife KellyAnne has been a big part of FCMS from day one in assisting Sam with the groundwork of establishing the practice. They met while KellyAnne was attending FSTM and spent time as Sam's student. They grew as great friends and now work closely together serving the families of First Coast. KellyAnne had a beautiful homebirth with Sam. KellyAnne was then Sam's Midwife for her HBA3C (home birth after 3 c-sections) in May. KellyAnne is compassionate, meticulous, and has such a heart for serving. We are so grateful for the time and dedication given to FCMS by KellyAnne. Due to her partner’s military career KellyAnne now helps us remotely.
